I was suspended from Ravelry today, Saturday the 14th of March, in the year of our Lord, 2009.
I have an e-mail off to inquiry why.
I suspect why: Freedom of Speech died in this country.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply to privately owned sites.
Anna's Mom is right. However, slander and banning access to personal property is wrong anywhere. And allowing the inmates to run the asylum is just lousy business leadership.
Where is the slander from the owners of the private site you were banned from? If you read the TOS I suspect you'll find that what you claim to be personal property isn't actually personal property.
Any patterns you bought, you should have backed up. It's common sense to store stuff in more than one place.
I know there were many designers, yarn dyers, spinners and LYS owners that were scooped up in the net (and a not very well thought up net, may I add) that will now have their business negatively impacted by these actions.
Anyone whose businesses have been interfered with have an absolute case for TORTIOUS INTERFERENCE. This is specifically about people getting in the middle of how one does business. Please share this info with people whose businesses have been impacted and advise them to seek legal representation!
Who knew that Ravelry was a part of the government and could kill free speech?!
Seems like they aren't very open minded or tolerant at Ravelry. I don't even knit (I'm crap at it) but my outside perspective is that you have some kind of discrimination going on and it's very anti-choice and anti-freedom. All the things Liberals typically approve of. Anyone who doesn't think like they do and toe the line you know.
the original blog post was just stating that (s)he was inquiring why she had a ban to ravelry, so everyone relax.
Let's not turn a suspension to a website as something anti-republican or a criticism about supposed 'knitting bitches'.
Many of us have managed to use the site respectfully and w/o attitude or snobbery and not get banned.
Suspensions aren't handed out on a whim, there's likely a reason as to why it happened.
If you can't learn to play nice, don't come out to play at all.
